چکیده
Thermally activated transitions are ubiquitous in nature, occurring complex environments which typically conceived as ideal viscous fluids. We report the first direct observations of a Brownian bead transiting between wells bistable optical potential viscoelastic fluid with single long relaxation time. precisely characterize both and fluid, thus enabling neat comparison our experimental results theoretical model based on generalized Langevin equation. Our findings reveal drastic amplification transition rates compared to those Newtonian stemming from during particle crossing events.

Inertial effects in the fractional translational diffusion of a Brownian particle in a double-well potential.
The anomalous translational diffusion including inertial effects of nonlinear Brownian oscillators in a double well potential V(x)=ax{2}/2+bx{4}/4 is considered. An exact solution of the fractional Klein-Kramers (Fokker-Planck) equation is obtained allowing one to calculate via matrix continued fractions the positional autocorrelation function and dynamic susceptibility describing the position ...

Quantum effects in the noninertial Brownian motion of a particle in a double well potential are treated via a semiclassical Smoluchowski equation for the time evolution of the reduced Wigner distribution function in configuration space allowing one to evaluate the position correlation function, its characteristic relaxation times, and dynamic susceptibility using matrix continued fractions and ...
متن کاملThermally activated escape rate for a Brownian particle in a double-well potential for all values of the dissipation.
The translational Brownian motion in a (2-4) double-well potential is considered. The escape rate, the position correlation function and correlation time, and the generalized susceptibility are evaluated from the solution of the underlying Langevin equation by using the matrix-continued fraction method. The escape rate and the correlation time are compared with the Kramers theory of the escape ...

We evaluate the energy dissipation rate of an optically driven Brownian particle in a polymer solution utilizing the generalized version of Harada and Sasa's equality [Phys. Rev. By adopting the time-dependent memory function ...
